What Are You Having For Dinner? Here's What I'm Making!!

(Fried Rice Pic & Recipe from : Savory Reviews )

So Tonight, I've decided to try my luck out on some Oriental food. So, I am making Fried Rice and Sweet and Sour Chicken. What Are you having for dinner? Well, these recipes are easy and things that you have or may have in your cabinets/pantry.  So here's the recipe for the fried rice, in case you want to try out the same thing:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 3 carrots, thinly shaved and diced
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbs  Soy Sauce
  • 3 tbs peanut or vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  •
    Directions:
    __________
Cut and mince all your vegetables. You can use a potato peeler to thin out the carrots. In a large frying pan, fry up the 2 eggs. Set Aside. In another pan pour in the rice and vegetables, add the eggs, Add the soy sauce and you're done!

(Recipe and Pic from : made it. ate it. love it. )
  • And our "meat" will be sweet and sour chicken. SUPER easy to make... here's that recipe.
  • Chicken Breading:3-5 chicken breast
    salt and pepper
    1 cup cornstarch
    2 eggs, beaten
    1/3 cup canola oil

Rinse chicken, trim off fat or extras and then cut into 1 inch cubes. season with salt and pepper. Dip chicken into cornstarch and coat all the way and then into eggs. Heat oil in large skillet. Cook chicken until browned. Place in baking dish. 3 chicken breasts can be in a 9x9 but 5 chicken breasts fits better in a 9x13.

    Sauce:3/4 cups sugar
    4 Tablespoons ketchup
                                                                                                                      1/2 cup white distilled vinegar
    1 Tablespoon soy sauce
    1 teaspoon garlic salt

Whisk until smooth. Then pour evenly over chicken. Turn chicken so the sauce gets on both sides and then put in the oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. turn chicken and then cook for 15 more minutes.

    My Publix Trip 12/4

This is my Publix trip from tonight. Let me just say...I hate the Publix on Dalraida!!
I, literally, traveled 30 minutes to another Publix in another town. I get there, and I see a sign where it says they no longer accept Save-a-lot coupons.

I was like "WTF?" So I grabbed my Yellow Advantage flyers and left to go to the closest Publix near my house (plus the taxes are lower)

So, after spending a 1/4 tank of gas for nothing this is what I walked out of the store with.
Note** Frosted Flakes are my fav. but I wasn't going to pay $1 for a 10.5 oz box when the Rice Krispy Cereal boxes were 12 oz and the same price. So I went with the bigger box of course.
(Plus these have codes in them)

    So here's my breakdown:

    (8) Rice Krispy Cereal- $2.50 ($20)
    (2) Gallons of Milk- $3.99 ($7.98)
    (14) Cheez-It's -BOGO- $3.99 ($27.93)
    (4) Cans of Del Monte Tomatoes-BOGO-$1.59 (3.18)
    (2)  Morton's Sea Salt - $1.69 (3.38)
    (4) Bags of M&Ms-$3.78 ($15.12)

    Total: $77.59

    Coupons Used:
