Are you new to couponing and just don't have the slightest clue what most of these couponers are talking about?
Well here is a list of the "coupon lingo" that most couponers use:
  • SS = Smart Source:one of the many coupon inserts that you receive in your Sunday Paper
  • RP=Red Plum: one of the many coupons inserts that you receive in your Sunday Paper
  • PG=Proctor and Gamble: one of the many coupon inserts that you receive in your Sunday Paper
  • GM=General Mills: another coupon insert that you receive in your Sunday Paper
  • OOP=Out Of Pocket:The actual money that you pay out of your pocket
  • RR=Register Rewards: Another name for catalina's (Cats) that are given at Walgreens
  • ECB=Extra Cash Bucks; Extra Bucks:these are paper money given back on the end of your receipt from CVS.
  • OYNO=On Your Next Order: Many get these with their cats, it's a % off your next store visit
  • MF;MFQ=Manufacturer/Manufacturer Coupon: Coupons that are distributed in your Sunday Paper that the manufacturer makes.
  • TQ=Target Coupon: Coupons only intended to be used at Target stores
  • B1G1F; B1G1; BOGO=Buy One Get One Free:Meaning Buy 1 item and get the other free
  • Cat=Catalina: these are long coupons that print out at the cash register
  • EXP=Expires:
  • MIR=Mail in Rebate:
  • PSA=Prices Starting At:
  • RNCHK=Rain Check: is a written slip given by the store to extend the sale price of an item, even though the sale has ended (most RNCHK's exp in 30 days)
  • WAGS=Walgreens: abbreviation for the Walgreens Store
  • Wally=Wal*Mart: abbreviation for Wal*Mart
  • IP=Internet Printable: Coupons available online and can be printed to use (many coupons may only be printed 2 per computer)
  • GC=Gift Card: when you return an item back to a store without a reciept, they put your money that you spent for that item onto a store credit or gift card
  • MM=Money Maker: When a coupon is more than the item purchased, it becomes a money maker or MM
  • PM=Price Match: the opportunity that Wally gives to match a competitor stores prices. {EX: If Wags has Sara Lee bread for $2, you can go to Wally and show them or tell them (cause you don't need the ad) that Wags has Sara Lee for $2, and they'll match it at the register}
